The goal of the Raccoon River Pet Rescue (RRPR) foster program is to provide a temporary and safe home environment for pets who need special attention or a break from the shelter. RRPR will:
Coordinate with new foster homes to determine the best fit for a foster pet.
Provide crates and veterinary care as needed.
We ask that foster providers furnish basic supplies, such as pet food and cat litter (for foster cats). Examples of foster needs may include:
Providing care for pets that have recently given birth and continuing to care for the family until they are ready for adoption.
Socializing pets that aren’t comfortable with people or other animals.
Caring for special cases such as pets that need a calm and quiet home due to recovery from surgery, injury or neglect.
